Open Family Swim- our open swim is available to all Ontario residents and students attending Ontario schools. It is for all ages and held at the Ontario Middle School pool.

Open swim will be from 6:30 pm to 8 pm on the following dates: February 28th, March 7th, and March 21st, 2019. Come join us for some exercise and fun! Open swim will be canceled if schools are closed for snow days.

Lifeguard Recertification   A lifeguard recertification class will be held April 7th from 1 to 5 pm. If you have a student that received a lifeguard certification and it has been two years, they need to get it renewed. Class size is limited, so email or call the Rec. Easter Egg Hunt- Mark your calendars for our Easter Egg Hunt!! The Egg Hunt will be held at Marshall Park, Saturday, April 13th, 2019 at NOON. This event is Rain or Shine. Please meet at the playscape area in Marshall Park by 11:45 am. This event is open to children in the 4th grade and under.  Please bring a container for your eggs, meet the Easter Bunny, Miss Ontario, and possibly find a special egg for a special prize!!

Swim Lessons:

Do you have a child in kindergarten through fifth grade that wants to learn to swim?

This year we are offering swim lessons after school in March! The cost is $40 for eight sessions for two weeks.

Students will meet in the small gym after school and the Recreation Director will take them over to the middle school pool for lessons from 4 PM to 5 pm Monday thru Friday, March 4th -8 th and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, March 11th to 14th!(Please note: No class will be held on Wed. March 13th due to MOAC swim banquet)

Debby Henry, who has been teaching and coaching swim for many years, will be the main instructor! High school students will be in the pool working with each child every day. It’s a great time to learn to swim before summer starts!

Red Cross Babysitting Class- The Ontario Rec. Dept. is partnering with the Mansfield Area YMCA to offer a Red Cross babysitting class to youth ages 11 to 15 years old. ) This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; keep themselves and others safe, and learn about basic child care and first aid.

The class will be held on Saturday, March 9th, from 10 am to 12:30 pm at the City of Ontario Community building.

Cost is only $20 (Non-refundable Fee) CPR IS NOT INCLUDED.
